Support Portal Login Error: "Refused to Connect" or Redirect Back to Sign-In

Overview

While trying to access the Crossover Support Portal, you might see a "refused to connect" message, a blank page, or a redirect back to the sign-in page after you enter your credentials. This usually happens for one of three reasons: an unsupported or outdated browser, private/incognito mode, or cookies being blocked by your browser settings or an extension.

The Support Portal works in the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

Note: The Crossover Support Portal now runs on Kayako. Older bookmarks or links that point to central-supportdesk.zendesk.com no longer work. Always go to support.crossover.com directly.

Prerequisites

Diagnosis

  1. Follow the steps to Sign In to the Crossover Support Portal as explained in the Crossover Support Portal FAQ article.
  2. Enter your credentials.
  3. Instead of being signed in, you see one of the following:
    • A "refused to connect" error message.
    • A blank or partially loaded page.
    • A redirect back to the sign-in page, with no error.

Solution

  • Confirm that you are using a supported browser:
    • Browsers supported on desktop:
      • Google Chrome: latest two versions
      • Mozilla Firefox: latest two versions
      • Apple Safari: latest two versions
      • Microsoft Edge: latest two versions
    • On mobile, use the latest version of Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android).
  • Don't use private/incognito mode
  • Make sure cookies are enabled in your browser settings
  • Make sure there are no active extensions that will block cookies

Confirmation

Once you are signed in successfully, you won't receive any error messages and you will be able to confirm that you are logged in:
