Background Check Process

Overview

A background check is comprised of various searches that are designed to reveal different kinds of information about a person. While some organizations use background checks to qualify volunteers or potential tenants, they are mostly used to determine a person’s suitability for employment or professional advancement within a company. Companies conduct background checks to protect their workforce, customers, and assets, and to minimize their exposure to negligent hiring claims.

Crossover requires background checks as part of the onboarding process for new hires. The checklist for this background search includes a reminder to include an authorization form because Crossover requires the contractor's permission to conduct the search. Crossover may also require other documents, depending on what country the contractor is from.

The Background Check process is performed internationally by our partner, SafestHires.

I was unemployed for quite some time so due to financial hardship I have a low credit score. I wanted to know if a low credit score can result in a negative background check result and will that prevent me from joining crossover?

    Hi Ashok,

Crossover's background includes a criminal check only.

Kristen -- they don't do a credit check or anything but criminal? That seems odd.

It is clearly mentioned this is an international criminal background check and thus includes a criminal background check.

Per my experience this process was very smooth and exactly as it is documented here.

For all new applicants => please bear in mind that processes at Crossover are driven heavily by playbooks and every process is documented very well.
