WorkSmart Closes After Launch on Windows 10 Home Edition

Overview

After installing the latest WorkSmart version available for Windows 10 successfully, you may find that after launching the application it closes itself if your operating system is Windows 10 Home Edition.

This problem is related to operating system permissions and can be easily fixed by granting administrator rights to the WorkSmart application.

 

Prerequisites

  • Active contractor using WorkSmart to track time.
  • Windows 10 Home Edition used as the operating system.

 

Diagnosis

  1. Launch WorkSmart.
  2. You won't receive the login screen or any other error message. Also, there is no WorkSmart icon in the taskbar and the application can't be found in the task manager.
