Running WorkSmart as an Administrator on Windows

Overview

While running WorkSmart on Windows, you may face issues with timecards generation, webcam usage, or other application problems that are caused by operating system permissions not set up as expected.

You will need to follow this article in order to ensure that WorkSmart is executed with administrator privileges for all operating system users.

 

Prerequisites

  • Active contractor using WorkSmart to track time on Windows

 

Solution

  1. Right-click on the Crossover WorkSmart launch icon and select the Properties option:

  2. Access the Compatibility tab and click on Change settings for all users:

  3. Check the option Run this program as an administrator:

  4. Click Apply to save the changes.
  5. Click OK twice to confirm and close the Properties window.

 

Confirmation

  1. Right-click on the Crossover WorkSmart launch icon and select the Properties option:

  2. Access the Compatibility tab and confirm that under the Settings section the option Run this program as an administrator is grayed out.

  3. Click OK to close the Properties window.
